How it works
How it works, from enquiry to keys
Six steps. The one that decides how fast it goes is step four — paperwork.
- 1
1. Tell us about the vehicle (about 60 seconds)
What you're buying, how many, roughly what it costs, who you're buying from and what your business does. No credit check to enquire.
- 2
2. A specialist calls you
A real person reads your enquiry and rings to fill in the gaps — trading history, deposit or trade-in, how long you'll keep the vehicle, whether a balloon makes sense.
- 3
3. The right structure and lender
We explain the options — chattel mortgage, finance lease or hire purchase — and which lender suits your situation. You decide whether to go ahead.
- 4
4. One clear document list
Usually the tax invoice or quote, ID and recent bank statements, plus anything specific to your deal. Having these ready is what makes fast settlement possible.
- 5
5. Approval and settlement
The lender approves, documents are signed and funds are paid to the dealer or seller. Next-business-day settlement is possible for straightforward applications.
- 6
6. Keys in hand — and a plan for next time
We'll note when your term ends or a balloon falls due, so your next vehicle or fleet replacement isn't a scramble.
What makes it quick (or slow)
Vehicle finance is secured by the vehicle itself, so lenders can often decide quickly. Deals stall when the invoice has the wrong business name, a bank statement is missing, or a private seller can't prove ownership. Our document checklist builder gives you your list before anyone asks, and the fleet cost planner works out how much to finance.
Common questions
Does enquiring affect my credit score?
No. Your enquiry doesn't involve a credit check. A credit check only happens if you choose to proceed with an application after we've talked through the options.
Will my details go to lots of lenders?
No. One specialist works on your enquiry and approaches the lender that fits, rather than broadcasting your details and leaving you to field the calls.
How long does the whole process take?
It depends mostly on paperwork. With the invoice or quote, ID and bank statements ready, approval and settlement can move fast, and next-business-day settlement is possible for straightforward applications. More complex deals, several vehicles or private sales can take a little longer.
Can I get approved before I choose the vehicle?
Often, yes. Pre-approval gives you a clear budget to shop with, which is especially useful at auctions or when buying privately. The final approval then attaches to the specific vehicle once you've chosen it.
